Medieval borough

In the Middle Ages, Chaves was a fortified village. Inside the walls, along the narrow streets, people lived in small houses with wooden colored balconies adorned with flower pots. During the last years, the houses have been restored in order to maintain the medieval look which captivates so many tourists.
