The building of ‘Paços do Concelho’ is a palace built in the middle of the nineteenth century by the Majorat of Vilar de Perdizes, António de Souza Pereira Coutinho. In 1857, the Mayor of Chaves, Francisco de Barros Teixeira Homem proposed buying the palace to house the council services, where they still work nowadays.
